- About IV Drips™
- Thank you for your interest.
- Hello. My name is Curt and I am a full time RN working in an Emergency Room in South Louisiana. After many experiences of titrating IV medications and not being able to locate a reference book, I developed the IV Drip program as a simple HTML document that lived on our hospital's intranet. I bought an iPhone shortly after it came out on the market and fell in love with its potential. Early in 2009 I ported IV Drips™ into webapp format so I could take the program to the bedside. After doing more research on iPhone development, I came across an open source tool developed by Joe Hewitt called iUI. This tool allowed me to develop version 3 of IV Drips™ which has a much smoother user interface and dramatically increased the speed of the application. A friend of mine from the IT department in our hospital is currently working on a version of IV Drips™ which will be a native application for the iPhone requiring no internet access to use. We are doing the programming during our spare time and our only revenue for development comes from advertisers in our webapp. The problem with the advertising is that the ads really slow down the loading of IV Drips™ over the Edge network. To overcome this, I have removed the ads from the webapp itself and have placed links to our advertisment page. It costs you nothing to touch an advertisement, but we get paid every time you do touch one. We will use this income to secure our own domain (.com) and take the webapp off of googlepages. Googlepages is great, but we are very limited to the file structure that we can use for our applications. We are also planning to use the revenue to purchase an iMac, which is needed to make native apps for the iPhone. Your support in this project is greatly appreciated. We have come a long way with this webapp in just a few months, and are planning to go much further in the future. Keep the feedback rolling in. We are open to any suggestions, requests, and/or criticisms.
